About Me

About Me

Who I am

I am a passionate storyteller with a deep belief in the power of words to connect, heal, and uplift. Through my creative writing and the heartfelt characters I bring to life, I strive to help others feel seen, understood, and less alone in their experiences. Having been diagnosed with autism as a teenager, I know first-hand what its like to navigate a world that often feels overwhelming or isolating.

My hope is that, through my stories, I can offer the kind of empathy and understanding that a young childespecially one grappling with big emotions or feeling differentmight need. By giving voice to those often unheard, I aim to create stories that not only reflect the richness of diverse experiences but also serve as a source of comfort, inspiration, and belonging.

Nervous Nellie

Nellie the Nervous Elephant is a gentle and heartwarming tale about a shy young elephant facing her biggest challenge yet—starting a brand-new school. Feeling too nervous to speak and too shy to make friends, Nellie hides away from the world… until she meets Marvin, a wise little mouse with a big heart.

Together, they explore simple ways to ease anxiety—from deep breathing to stretching, talking, and being kind to yourself. With Marvin’s support, Nellie learns that being nervous is okay—and that even the smallest acts of courage can lead to big, beautiful changes.

Perfect for children aged 4–8, this rhyming story offers a comforting message about friendship, self-care, and finding your voice—even when it shakes.

By giving voice to those often unheard, I aim to create stories that not only reflect the richness of diverse experiences but also serve as a source of comfort, inspiration, and belonging.

I am a graduate of Disability, Behavioural Needs, and Education, the start of my professional life and my writing life as well. I have frontline practice with people of different needs, and this practice experience gives useful feedback to the content and stories that I write.

My motivation is a desire for representation, inclusion, and empathy. When developing educational content or writing children's and family literature, my aim is to produce books that reflect real life in an honest and genuine manner.

With each project, I strive to offer content that educates, inspires, and resonates with readers from diverse backgrounds.

About My Books

I am a children's book writer dedicated to creating and publishing picture books promoting, embracing, and celebrating human differences diversity. My stories are born out of a personal interest in illustrating important themes such as diversity, disabilities, inclusion, and social-emotional learning. With every tale I produce, I attempt to reflect the diverse range of identities, capabilities, cultures, and experiences that define every child as unique.

My long-term vision is to make sure young readers—most importantly, those traditionally underrepresented in children's books—are noticed, heard, and celebrated. My belief is that when children are able to see themselves within the pages of a book, it makes them feel home and appreciated. Similarly, my books urge all children to walk a mile in someone else's shoes, to be taught empathy, kindness, and better understanding of the world at large.

I'm a careful writer, mindful of language and tone and representation and seeking a balance between realistic storytelling and messages that are appropriate for children. Whether I am describing a child living life with a disability, mending cross-cultural relationships, or quietly putting the topic of inclusion in the foreground of action, I aim to write stories that touch minds and hearts.

Lastly, I wish to write engaging, relevant, and well-illustrated books that will motivate, educate, and entertain kids. Through stories, my hope is to generate controversy in classrooms and homes, foster emotional intelligence, and make us a better accepting and tolerant world, one book at a time.
